Application of Metal 3D Printing in Orthopaedics – Current Status in China

Due to the features of 3D printing that are particularly suitable for the field of orthopaedics, more and more innovative medical devices have been developed based on metal 3D printing.

The CFDA has continuously approved the listing of multiple metal 3D printing implants, but this is only the beginning. 3D printing is showing great potential in the treatment of certain special diseases, such as a bone tumour, huge bone defect. As research progresses and customized regulations are being developed, patient-customized implants will bring new therapeutic concepts.
